Revision

Use active revision methods, exam practice and spaced review to turn study time into measurable progress.

Today’s 20 minutes

Three subjects, six questions and adaptive weak-topic revision. Monday to Saturday.

Real exam practice

Daily 10 and monthly full mocks using authorised historical questions where available.

My study plan

Continue longer-term study-plan tasks and scheduled reviews.

Revision topic progress

Completion status for each revision topic, built from your flashcard mastery and quiz results.

No revision topics tracked yet.

Create flashcards or take a quiz from a subject tutor to start tracking progress.

GCSE & A-Level Active Revision

Evidence-informed techniques built around retrieval, feedback, focused practice and revisiting weak material over time.

Key Stage 4 / GCSE revision

Secure specification knowledge, command words, method accuracy and timed exam technique.

Active Recall & Self-Testing

Close the notes and force yourself to retrieve the answer from memory.

How to use it

Use flashcards, a blank page or short questions. Answer first, then check. Mark what you missed.

Best for

Facts, definitions, formulae, processes, quotations and key concepts.

Blurting

Write everything you can remember about one topic before looking at your notes.

How to use it

Set a short timer, blurt from memory, then use a different colour to correct gaps and errors.

Best for

Finding hidden knowledge gaps quickly.

Spaced Repetition

Revisit the same topic after increasing gaps instead of cramming it once.

How to use it

A useful starting cadence is 1 day, 3 days, 7 days and 14 days; shorten the gap when recall is weak.

Best for

Long-term retention across multiple subjects.

Past Papers + Mark Schemes

Practise official or teacher-approved exam questions under realistic timing.

How to use it

Attempt without help, mark strictly with the official/teacher mark scheme, log the missed marks, then redo the weak answer.

Best for

Exam technique, timing, command words and assessment objectives.

Feynman Explanation

Explain the topic aloud in simple language as if teaching someone younger.

How to use it

If you cannot explain a step simply and accurately, return to the source, fix the gap and explain it again.

Best for

Deep understanding and exposing weak reasoning.

Realistic Revision Timetable

Break subjects into small topics and schedule specific revision tasks.

How to use it

Plan topics and methods, not vague blocks like “revise science”. Leave catch-up space and protect rest.

Best for

Balancing subjects and preventing last-minute cramming.

Focused 25/5 Blocks

Work with full focus for 25 minutes, then take a strict 5-minute break.

How to use it

Choose one defined task for each focus block. Remove distractions and stop at the break instead of drifting.

Best for

Starting difficult work and maintaining concentration.

Prioritise Weak Areas

Spend more revision time on the topics that lose marks, not just the topics you enjoy.

How to use it

Use quiz scores, past-paper errors, teacher feedback and confidence checks to rank topics red/amber/green.

Best for

Turning limited revision time into targeted improvement.

Online Tests — 11+, GCSE & A-Level

Take a 10-minute test each day and a full timed mock each month, with results and weak topics saved into revision progress.

Humanit uses genuine historical exam questions only where platform display rights are recorded. AI is used around the question for working analysis, feedback and revision targeting; it does not replace the real question.

GCSE 55-minute active revision session

Two focused blocks with a strict break. Finish by scheduling the next review rather than treating the topic as “done”.

5m

Retrieve

No notes: answer quick questions or list what you remember.

10m

Blurt + correct

Write the topic from memory, then fill gaps in a different colour.

10m

Explain

Use the Feynman method on the weakest point or method.

5m

Break

Step away from the screen and reset.

20m

Timed exam practice

Complete official or teacher-approved exam questions.

5m

Mark + schedule

Use the mark scheme, log errors and schedule the next spaced review.

Default spaced-review checkpoints

Re-test after 1, 3, 7, 14 days. Bring weak topics forward sooner.

GCSE revision resources

Resources are grouped by GCSE subject. Use the materials that match your exam board and prioritise official past papers and mark schemes for exam practice.

All subjects

General GCSE revision platforms covering multiple subjects and exam boards.

Maths

English

Geography

Religious Studies

Modern Foreign Languages

Science

Use the correct Biology, Chemistry, Physics or Combined Science specification for your exam board.

Passive rereading or highlighting can help you check material, but Humanit should move you back into retrieval, practice, feedback and correction rather than leaving revision passive.
